About This Project
This initiative was created by Ethan, the older brother of Liam, a patient living with Cohen Syndrome. Ethan is a passionate artist and loves to draw roses. He came up with the Blue Rose Eye which represents hope, vision, and resilience. The blue rose symbolizes rarity and possibility, while the eye reflects the importance of vision research for individuals living with Cohen Syndrome. He created this design to raise awareness and support scientific research for Cohen Syndrome.
To express his hopes for Liam and others living with Cohen Syndrome, Ethan wrote the following poem in school this year:
"My Dream" — by Ethan
I wish for vision,
For my baby brother.
Who won't be able to see in the night,
This idea brings me great fright,
A deep dark world lies ahead of him,
Not being able to enjoy the things he loves most, or his loved
ones,
But at the end of this dark tunnel of reality, there is hope,
One faithful day could change his whole life,
A cure lies ahead, and I know it,
And when there is a cure,
My happiness will be unmatched,
This is my dream.
